Global HOME is dedicated to raising awareness of important global health issues and fundraising for charities and worthy causes. Some of our fundraising events include:
The Red Party

Our annual charity fundraiser for HIV/AIDS awareness. This event is held by many global health groups across Australia.
- 2011: raised $4234 for Tabitha Ministries, a community centre for HIV/AIDS education and school for children affected by HIV/AIDS based in Pietermatritzburg, South Africa.
- 2010: raised $4,800 for the Indian Institute of Mother and Child.
- 2009: raised $7,200 to support two Cambodian NGOs - Goutte D’eau (orphanage & medical clinic) and Antiretroviral Users Association (supports people living with HIV).
Live Below the Line
Global HOME is a big supporter of Live Below the Line, where participants live below the international poverty line ($2 per day) for 5 days to raise awareness about extreme poverty. In 2011, the Global HOME team had 15 members and raised $6089.19 for the Oaktree Foundation and the Global Poverty Project.
Global Medical Library Aid Project
Aim: to support the medical professionals of the future by donating needed medical textbooks and other educational resources to our partner school in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The Global Medical Library Aid Project is an AMSA Global Health Network initiative that aims to form partnerships between Australian and under-resourced medical schools around the world. To raise money for the project, a charity auction is held.
